Lost in Eldritch (2008)

Another entry in the The Commonplace Book Competition is Lost in Eldritch by Bob le Moche. Also a platformer, it’s about a guy collecting red fruits in a strange, cavernous world. This is done by mastering the rather sluggish jump-ability of the main character. Once you get the hang of it, the game is rather easily beaten. Lost in Eldritch has nice graphics, but the gamplay is too limited and the game far too short. Due to the slight exploration aspect, the game feels like the demo to a much bigger metrovania game and thus the abrupt and nonsensical ending makes you feel like you’re missing something.
