Kaipuu (2007)

Kaipuu, another game heavily inspired by Seiklus, like the earlier Painajainen, has strangely the same problem like another Seiklus inspired game from someone else, Lilium. When you move from one screen to another, your momentum has gone, which makes these transitions between screens sometimes annoying. On my first attempt to play through the game I thought some of the skills I acquired were badly broken, like the wall jump and the climbing of ropes, until I realized that some skills work only in the black mode (in hindsight it seems obvious). Like in most Seiklus clones, you have to collect orb-like thingies, 400 souls here, to solve the game. Despite the few faults, like the color scheme (too much gray) and the screen transitions, I liked the game.
