Starship Girl Yamamoto Yohko (1996-1997)

The nicest thing that can be said about this collection of two OVAs is that they have good, sometimes even excellent animation and a certain kind of short entertainment value (dumb but fun). The rest is negligible. There is no character development, the show starts with cardboard characters and they never change. The premise of the show is silly, girls taken from our present and transported into the future to fight in wars that are fought like a sport with no causalities. Each of the two OVAs has 3 episodes, each episode has a story that stands on its own, with no overarching story arcs. It’s mostly silly humor combined with some action.
