VVVVVV is the new platformer by Terry Cavanagh, the genius behind Don’t Look Back. VVVVVV is more like a metrovania-type platformer than the much shorter and more linear DLB. Unlike in DLB the story is less dominant and the gameplay takes the spotlight. Difficulty-wise the game might be a bit more challenging for beginners, but unlike games like Meat Boy or Jumper or MoneySize it’s not too frustrating. Despite that, it’s a great games with a riveting soundtrack, varied gameplay and just the right amount of exploration to make it incredibly fun. The style and the strange story also complement each other perfectly and make for a very weird experience. Overall, very recommended.
